Originally started as Fort Howard Paper Company, the mill has maintained a positive reputation in the manufacturing industry, as well as the community of Green Bay. Despite multiple changing conditions over the years, the Broadway Mill has made an enormous impact on the economies of both Green Bay and Wisconsin. Its annual impact includes:

  • Approximately $475 million in goods and services purchased from Wisconsin and other states.
  • More than $250,000 in support oflocal nonprofits.
  • Approximately $119 million paid inannual payroll.

Georgia‐Pacific executives, local and state government officials and employees celebrated the occasion by opening a time capsule that Fort Howard created 25 years ago with instructions to open on the 100‐year anniversary.
