Georgia-Pacific Names Tarek Hallaba President – EMEA Consumer Business

ATLANTA, GA. February 20, 2008 -- Georgia-Pacific LLC announced today that Tarek Hallaba, 55, will join the company as president - EMEA consumer business. He will report to Kathy Walters, executive vice president - global consumer products.

In this key leadership role, Hallaba will have full responsibility for Georgia-Pacific’s consumer business in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and will be based at the company’s EMEA headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

Hallaba most recently was president of the global personal care business for Colgate-Palmolive Company. He previously held several key positions with Colgate since joining the company in 1986 including: president - Central Europe/ Russia; marketing vice president - Latin America; general manager - personal care, France; and marketing director - New Zealand. He also worked for Colgate in New York, Egypt and Ivory Coast. He earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s of business administration from the University of South Carolina.
