Melamine-formaldehyde resins are used in the production of composite panels such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particleboard (PB). There are several applications where melamine-formaldehyde resins are currently used to meet specific customer requirements: (1) no-added urea formaldehyde (NAUF) resin and (2) moisture resistance.

The LEAF® GB wood adhesive products may be melamine-formaldehyde resins and meet the requirement of not containing any added urea-formaldehyde. They may contribute toward Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED®) credits and may meet other green building standards in applications such as composite panels, medium density fiberboard (MDF), particleboard (PB) and hardboard (HB). These resins can be used in tandem with GP Chemicals unique scavenger systems to further improve an emissions profile. They can be customized to meet California Air Resource Board (CARB) Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) Phase 2 emission requirements and have been substituted into existing manufacturing processes.

In addition, GP Chemicals manufactures a variety of MF resins used in applications such as backcoating acoustic ceiling tile and low and high pressure laminates.
