DryGuard® Enhanced OSB
DryGuard® enhanced OSB is a single-layer Sturd-I-Floor® panel with excellent moisture resistance to help create a high performance sub-floor.
Because it is moisture resistant, DryGuard OSB does not require joint sanding as a result of swell from moisture exposure during the normal construction cycle.
DryGuard OSB is strong and stable, and lies flat for easy installation. Plus, it is free from core voids, knots and splits, and is backed by a lifetime limited warranty.

For complete DryGuard Enhanced OSB installation recommendations see APA Engineered Wood Construction Guide, form no. E30S, at www.apawood.org.
- 1. Install panels with the strength axis (8' panel dimension) across supports. Span rating assumes panel will be installed over at least two or more spans, (three or more supports) and distance between supports will not exceed the maximum panel span rating.
- 2. Leave a 1/8" gap at panel ends to allow for some dimensional change as panel acclimates to the environmental conditions. Tongue and groove panel edges have a built in gap for spacing on the backside of the panel. Stagger end joints in adjacent rows at least one support spacing.
- 3. Fasten panels with 6d ring shank (or 8d smooth shank) corrosion resistant nails spaced 6" apart (12" if glued and nailed) at panel edges and 12" apart at the intermediate supports in the field of the panel. Minimum fastener distance from panel edge is 3/8". A combination of both mechanical fastening and gluing of panels with a sub-floor/construction adhesive is highly recommended to minimize the possibility of nail popping and floor squeaks. (Adhesives should meet APA Performance Specification AFG-01 or ASTM D 3498). Glue panels to all joist surfaces to contact the panel back as well as the tongue and groove. Tongue and groove edges will require a lighter application of adhesive to avoid excessive squeeze-out. Follow the adhesive manufacturer's application recommendations on the adhesive package.
