Many Georgia-Pacific building products and tissue and towel products may contribute toward certification points in the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program. LEED establishes a standard for measurement of green building and sustainability.
Georgia-Pacific plywood, oriented strand board, engineered lumber and softwood lumber products in the United States are made from wood sourced through a system that is third-party certified to the SFI procurement standard. In addition, all paper, tissue, cellulose, packaging and bleached board products made at GP’s primary pulp and paper mills in North America are also certified to the SFI procurement standard as are the company’s corrugated container facilities. Many of these pulp and paper and wood products can use the SFI certified sourcing on-product label.
