Georgia-Pacific Speakers Share Expertise at International Wood Adhesives Conference

ATLANTA, GA. September 16, 2009 --

Experts from Georgia-Pacific will present comprehensive insights into two key elements of the wood adhesives business at the quadrennial International Wood Adhesives conference sponsored by the Forest Products Society Sept. 28-30 in Lake Tahoe, Nev.

Ashlee Cribb, Georgia-Pacific market manager for wood adhesives, will address the developments in green building standards and market drivers in her talk, “Impact of Green Building on Wood Adhesives.” Requirements related to the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™, the Green Building Initiative Green Globes™ rating system and the National Association of Home Builders National Green Building Standard™ will be presented in the context of new and existing resin technologies.

Herb Kennedy, Georgia-Pacific regional sales manager for wood adhesives, will speak on the “State of the North American Wood Composites and Wood Adhesives Markets.” Georgia-Pacific has supplied the wood adhesives industry for more than 50 years and has a unique perspective on the fluctuations of market demand.

Georgia-Pacific will also unveil its new LEAF™ line of adhesives at the conference. These resins help manufacturers meet California Air Resource Board Phase 2 low-emission requirements. Compatible with existing manufacturing processes, LEAF™ products may also help builders earn LEED credits for their projects.
