Georgia-Pacific Resins, Inc. introduces Nitamin Nfusion®, a new slow-release nitrogen (N) liquid fertilizer that brings the power of Nitamin® Steady-Delivery® technology to conventional fertilizer programs in row crops, fruits and vegetables. Nitamin Nfusion, to be distributed primarily through Wilbur-Ellis Company, can be blended with quick-release liquid fertilizers in various ratios to provide flexible nitrogen release rates for an effective way to match N delivery with crop-specific N uptake patterns throughout the growing season.

Nitamin Nfusion is a blend of methylene urea and triazone that contains 25 percent nitrogen, of which 94 percent is slowly available. The inherent flexibility of Nitamin Nfusion allows growers to factor in soil temperatures, application timing and the crop’s growth cycle before determining how much slowly available N to incorporate.

Nitamin Nfusion is converted to plant-available forms of nitrogen (ammonium and nitrate) by soil microbes over a period of 60 to 90 days. It can be used as a primary N source for vegetable and fruit crops as well as row crops. Nitamin Nfusion can be applied through preplant soil applications, fertilizer irrigation, injection, water run and surface sidedress bands.

Nitamin Nfusion can be blended with different ratios of quick-release liquid fertilizers, such as UAN, urea solution, and ammonium nitrate solution, to provide flexible N release rates. It can be blended at the retailer facility or in the field. The amount of Nitamin Nfusion added ranges from 20 to 50 percent of the total nitrogen content of the fertilizer solution for most crops. Custom blends can also be made with certain formulations of phosphorus, potassium and micronutrients.

Georgia-Pacific’s original Nitamin product, Nitamin^® 30L, is a 30% slow-release liquid N fertilizer that releases nitrogen to plants over a 60- to 90-day period.
