ATLANTA, GA. December 02, 2003 -- Georgia-Pacific Resins, Inc. (GPRI), a subsidiary of U.S.-based
Georgia-Pacific Corp., today announced that it has established a strategic alliance with Kolon Chemical of South Korea.
This alliance will enable both companies to identify products required by their markets and to offer a wider range of technical solutions. Sales have already begun under this agreement.
“We believe that the relationship will benefit both companies, and allow us to use our strengths to build a stronger presence in the marketplace,” said Mario Concha, president –
Georgia-Pacific Resins. “We will be sharing technology, products, market knowledge, applications know-how and other capabilities to serve new customers. This should lead to a stronger relationship for our companies in the future.”
The agreement will allow Kolon to offer GPRI’s low-emissions wood adhesives technology in Korea. This technology ensures the best possible indoor air quality from products made of composite wood panels. In addition, Kolon and GPRI will expand their presence in China and Japan, bringing their superior technology to specialty industrial resins customers in those markets.
