ATLANTA, GA. November 03, 2003 -- Georgia-Pacific Resins, Inc. – a subsidiary of U.S.-based Georgia-Pacific Corp. – today announced that it has completed the acquisition of two resin manufacturing plants in Brazil from Atofina, the chemical branch of the TOTAL group based in Paris.
The facilities, located in Jundiaí and Belém, produce thermosetting resins used in making abrasives, friction materials, thermal insulation, wood bonding adhesives and many other industrial products. The Jundiaí plant¹, in the state of Saõ Paulo, has 63 employees. The Belém plant², located in the state of Para, has 16 employees.
