ATLANTA, Georgia. November 02, 2000 -- The pine chemicals group of Georgia-Pacific Resins, Inc. (GPRI) has realigned its sales and marketing staff in order to enhance their efforts in product prioritization, market analysis, project management and customer service.
"We have experienced a great deal of growth and, with the acquisition of Actrachem, are expanding our product offerings into existing and new markets," said Michael R. Roberts, director of sales and marketing — pine chemicals. "The realignment will enable us to better anticipate and serve the unique needs of our customers in a wide range of market segments."
As a result of the reorganization, three GPRI staff members were promoted to the position of district sales manager: Jeff Yost - metalworking and tall oil fatty acids; Gary Fultz — oilfield, rubber, and formulated products; and Sam Eades — tackifiers and rosin. Todd Parker was named industry manager for metalworking, tackifier, and mining chemicals.
The GPRI pine chemicals group offers a comprehensive line of tall oil products derived from crude tall oil, a co-product of the kraft pulping process. The products are used in a wide range of applications, including papermaking, metalworking fluids, coatings, inks, adhesives, rubber production and mining chemicals. The group’s September, 1999, acquisition of Actrachem LP, a Chicago-based manufacturer of optimally formulated sulfated oils, amides, corrosion inhibitors, specialty esters, emulsifier bases, and lube additives, significantly enhanced its offerings to the metalworking and lubricant markets.
