Georgia-Pacific's Chemical Division Rolls Out New Web Site "www.gp.com/chemical" Features Advanced Product Search Tool

ATLANTA, Georgia. August 18, 2000 -- Georgia-Pacific’s Chemical Division has rolled out a new Web site available at www.gp.com/chemical. The new interactive Chemical Products site provides considerably more product information than the previous site.

A major feature of the new site is the Advanced Product Search tool that is accessible from every page on the site. The tool allows users to search for products by choosing from a list of search items under three different categories - product type, industry/application, or product name. The search results page includes product description, contact information such as a direct e-mail link to the appropriate product manager, and downloadable product literature.

The Chemical Products home page includes a product spotlight that will feature existing products and introduce new products on a rotating basis. The product lines section has been expanded and is organized by focus area, i.e., Wood Adhesives, Industrial Resins, Formaldehyde, Paper Chemicals, Pine Chemicals, Lignosulfonates and Ethyl Alcohols. A new international section features an interactive global map showing distributor and joint venture representation throughout the world. A dynamic map that indicates U.S. plant locations is also included on the site.

Caryn E. King, manager market communications - Georgia-Pacific Resins, Inc., said that the decision to develop a new site is a result of management’s recognition of the importance of having a strong Internet presence and of the company’s desire to respond to feedback from customers and visitors to their site. According to King, “The capabilities of the Internet have expanded greatly since we first launched our site more than three years ago. We expect that customers will find the new features helpful. We will continue to enhance our site to keep pace with Internet advances and customer needs.”

Georgia-Pacific Resins, Inc. (GPRI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Georgia-Pacific Corp. GPRI is a market leader in chemical products for the paper and pulp and building products industries, as well as other industrial manufacturing processes.
